Awardees Announced!
Every year the Intercollegiate Equestrian Foundation
(IEF) provides a number of scholarships to equestrian students across the
country. Applicants are judged based on need, suitability, dedication to
the equestrian sport and evaluation of the content of the applications
submitted. Scholarships are awarded each year at the IHSA National Horse
Show. The number of awards, as well as the amount of the awards varies
depending on the availability of funds.
Qualifications and Requirements for
I.E.F. Scholarship Awards
To apply and be considered for an IEF Scholarship Award,
the applicant MUST submit a complete, neatly typed Scholarship Application
package including the following.
1- IEF Scholarship Application Form
2- A current college transcript or current high school transcript with GPA
and class ranking
3- Record of school and community involvement
4- Record of involvement in equine activities and/or IHSA
5- Interest in participation in intercollegiate equestrian activities
6- State financial need- Include current means of paying college expenses
a. Parents
b. Student loans
c. Grants
d. Job
e. Other
7- Personal recommendations (At least two)
Procedures
1- Obtain IEF Scholarship Application from this website,
IHSA Coach, IHSA Regional President or IHSA member college financial aid
office. Nonmembers can obtain the application from any of the above resources, or
directly from the IEF.
2- Submit a completed application package to your IHSA
Regional President for forwarding to the IEF. Nonmembers submit directly to the IEF at
the following address:

3- Deadline for submission of the completed package to
your IHSA Regional President is December 15th. Nonmember deadline for submission
directly to the IEF is January 15th. Packages received after
January 15th will not be considered. All applications submitted become the
property of the IEF. Packages that are not complete will not be reviewed.
